2022 WPH R48 Icebreaker Full Preview

Tucson, AZ, WPH Press, 12/6/22

The second Race 4 Eight Icebreaker and twentieth overall Icebreaker kicks off at the WPH’s Clark Park on Saturday, December 10, with the game’s best small ball stars aiming to etch their names onto the Clark Park Wall of Fame. In addition to the R48 Icebreaker, women’s and junior stars will also be in action in singles play.

4-time Icebreaker champion David Fink won the inaugural R48 Icebreaker in December of 2021 and will aim to defend his R48 Icebreaker title and win his second Race 4 Eight title on his home court.

Lucho Cordova was dominant in sweeping the 2022 Icebreaker series, winning all three events without dropping a game in his 12 matches. Lucho will be aiming for his fifth R48 title and second in a row after crushing the field at the 2022 R48 Memorial in November.

Joining Fink and Lucho in the star-studded R48 Icebreaker field will be former Icebreaker finalists Danos Cordova, Shorty Ruiz, Sam Esser, Abraham Montijo, and Max Langmack, as well as three-time R48 champion Martin Mulkerrins, Leo Canales, Jr., Loren Collado, Adam Bernhard, Brant Bidegain, and a number of other top players.

The WPH will film the action and upload the matches to Patreon (HERE). You can follow all of the 2022 R48 Icebreaker action with daily recaps on wphlive.tv
