WPH R48Pro V Stop #6 – Salt Lake City Aces – April 15th-17th, 2016

The World Players of Handball returns for the regular season’s last stop, before the big Player’s Championship in Portland, Oregon, May 5th-8th, 2016. The Ace Cleanup Crew holds the best tournament in the country; highlighted by an action packed pro/am doubles, combined age division doubles, big ball singles and more!

 
The WPH will have pro qualifiers begin Friday morning; followed by the main draw Friday afternoon (w/the likes of Paul Brady, Luis Moreno, Sean Lenning, Emmett Peixoto, etc). Anyone can enter the qualifier (first come-first serve) but will cap at 32 total players.
 
WPH film crews will be on hand capturing all the action, as ESPN3 will air the broadcast on Sat/Sun of the event.
 
WPH Outdoor has made this their third stop on the Big Ball Tour for 2016 (Gold Cup Cup) and will have accelerated prize money and ranking points in the Big Ball Pro (A) Singles Bracket. Matches will be played on the 4 wall courts at the Sports Mall and Qualifier & Pro Am Xrossover is encouraged. This will be a Full Ranked event for WPH Outdoor. WPH intends to air some big ball matches on ESPN.

From the best banquet we have witnessed to the local attention to detail, you will be blown away.” The WPH and Salt Lake’s Aces have formed quite a team, as they enter their fifth year on tour together.

A message from Tournament Director, Matt Stalsberg (March 14th, 2016):

ONE MONTH COUNTDOWN TO ACES 2016
 
Good day to all and prepare yourselves for some competition of the highest level, not just Gary Scogin, but the (rest) best in the World coming to Salt Lake City, UT.  We have another fun tournament this year, while we will not be the final stop this year, we will be second to last of an incredible tour so far this year.  If you have not done so already, I encourage you to join the WPH and watch all the live action, the NYAC tourney last weekend was impressive. 
 
Changes to tourney this year:
-Mens Pro only, WPH is pushing the Women and Seniors to Portland for the the last stop (same qualifier scenario as last year, qualifier does not count as a 3rd Aces division) You can only enter 2 Aces divisions with combination of Singles and Doubles only
-We have added 70+ singles this year, and broke the doubles divisions into Pro AM, 110 combined (min age 50) and 120 comb (min age 55).  As you can see we are hoping to get some of the Golden Masters back again.  
-We have added $$$ 1st place price for Big Ball division, we anticipate some great players from California coming over
-We have reserved the Royal Bar upstairs on Friday night, they have live music and some good food.  http://www.theroyalslc.com/
-Crystal Inn is our sponsored hotel again this year and they have added light breakfast and dinner this year.  They will be able to provide shuttle service to the club and the Royal YOU NEED TO SCHEDULE WITH THEM.
-Qualifiers start at 9 am Friday and ACES starts at NOON.
-The Deweys mobile will provide a shuttle from the Crystall Inn to Aces party on Saturday night, we will have a sign in sheet at registration.
