“We have always put Houston and their community right atop the list as the best in the business and we are so excited to return,” says WPH Executive Director, David Vincent. “We will focus on the Elite Eight at this stop with guys like Paul Brady, Killian Carroll, Sean Lenning, and a band of talented qualifiers.” This year, like last, the WPH will allow anyone to play in the pro qualifier w/a player cap of 32 (first come, first serve).  This is also a Senior 40+ stop.  If you celebrate a 40th birthday this year (2016) or are already a master player, this event is open and ready for you.  Expect national master champions like Tyler Hamel, Dan Zimet, Chris Watkins, Marcos Chavez, Dan Armijo and even Naty Alvarado at this tournament.  Entry is open and taking names!  HERE>

Eight qualifiers will be integrated into the main draw where eight ‘named’ players will be waiting for their arrival. Qualifier action begins as early as 9am on Friday, February 19th. WPH Main draw starts after 2pm; meanwhile, local state doubles will soon follow.  Anyone can play in the state doubles!  “A couple years back, Dave Chapman (MO) and Anthony Selestow (WI) won the state doubles here in Texas,” said one tournament organizer.  “So, out of towners, it’s on you if you want the crown.”  All participants must be part of the Houston Handball Club, as a paid member, in order to play for a state title, but membership dues are not very expensive.  Minimal fee.
