pbWorld Players of Handball just finished up with Race Stop #3, as New Orleans proved to be a formidable opponent in so many ways.  [Some we can comment on, others  …not-so-much]

The New Orleans R48 V Stop #3 final featured a rematch of the 2015 World Handball Championships final between the R48 #1 and 5-time defending world champion Paul Brady and newly minted R48 Elite 8 member Killian Carroll. Brady was seeking his 12th R48 title in his 14th start, while Carroll advanced to his first R48 final with sensational comeback victories against Emmett Peixoto, Mando Ortiz and Sean Lenning.  Read More, HERE>

Houston’s R48Pro #4 is just around the corner, February 19th-21st, at the Tellepsen Family YMCA Downtown and you are invited. Here are some quick FAQ answers that may save you some time read and digging to find on your own:

*This is a senior race4eight stop. If you are 40+ or turn 40 in 2016, you can play. Prize money for this and Elite WPH Pros, HERE>

*Hotel info …Ooh, this is a tough one! Conventions downtown on the same weekend as ours has the very close hotels booked solid. There is a Handball discount, room block, but it is only good until Jan 30th. Hotel staff did claim to TRY to extend it, but don’t keep your hopes up. Discount code is: “HCC.” Hotel info, HERE>  In the event that you cannot find a room, no worries, we will all just have to stay at Omar Lemus’ place.  🙂

*This is a state doubles championship.  There have been many cross-over pros and fans all across the country trying to win the Texas title.  Makes no difference if you are local or not, you can take home the brass.  In recent years, Robbie McCarthy, Dave Chapman, Luis Moreno and others have played and heck, if they can, so can you.  All the divisions and fees are listed for Houston, HERE>

Image1*Schedule – Qualifiers start at 9am Friday; WPH will qualify eight players and cap the draw at 32.  WPH Sweet 16 (to include the Elite Eight & Qualifiers) begin after 2pm later that day.  Amateurs and non pro events begin after 4pm.  WPH SR48Pros 40+ starts after 5pm on Friday and depending on numbers, top seeds may begin Saturday AM.  WPH finals will begin at 9am Sunday, to include 5th place pro, 9th place, 17th place, Senior Pro final and Elite Eight Final.  ESPN3 & WatchESPN App coverage begins Saturday morning and continues Sunday.  WPH will film just Sat/Sun
