Welcome to the pre-Thanksgiving edition of the MMS!

Junior WPH held three junior handball clinics in three different cities on one day last Saturday, providing WPH certified coaching in Tucson, AZ, Modesto, CA and Pensacola, Fl.

In Ireland, Killian Carroll survived an 11-10 semifinal thriller against Irish #1 Robbie McCarthy and defeated Diarmaid Nash in the final to win the 40×20 Irish Nationals and Catriona Casey claimed her first 40×20 Irish Nationals title over Aisling Reilly.

Also, Stephen Cooney is on the rise, the RFC Turkey Bowl edition is next weekend in Pittsburgh, PA, and registration is open for the 2015 World Handball Championships in Calgary, Alberta, Canada!

Humberto Arreola of Mexico asks, what is the weight and size of the small ball handball?

Taking an average of four WPH R48 balls and four USHA 21 balls:

R48 ball weight/diameter: 61.25 grams/45.7 mm

21 ball weight/diameter: 58.75 grams/45 mm

The R48 ball is 2.5 grams heavier than the 21 ball. Thank you to Tucson Rolling Shutters Engineer, Draftsman and Handball Nut… Jeff Healam for the specs!

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone and stay tuned for more Monday morning Serve after the holiday. Remember, if you have any questions or comments that you would like to have answered on the MMS, please email them to fink@race4eight.com or tweet to @dfwph
